Neşe Önder serves as an of counsel at Baysal & Demir Law Firm. She acted as partner responsible for insurance and reinsurance as well as competition and antitrust practice groups at the commercial and corporate law department of a major Turkish law firm for 11 years.
She has been a listed arbitrator at the Turkish Insurance Arbitration Commission since 2017.
She has worked mostly with foreign actors in the insurance and reinsurance industry and in particular with close ties to the London market. She has extensive experience on various types of policies and policy disputes, including but not limited to construction, erection, fire, machinery, terrorism and financial lines policies (bankers’ blanket bonds, commercial crime, D&O liability, venture capital protection, and cash in transit policies, in particular), as well as professional, employers’, clinical trial and cyber risk liability policies. She has also advised her clients on provision of cross-border insurance products and localisation of policies.
Her practice includes advising on business set-ups, M&As and corporate governance issues, in particular in the insurance industry.
She has also represented and advised clients from a wide range of industries in relation to compliance with Turkish antitrust and merger control laws, as well as intellectual property rights and unfair competition issues.
She has represented her clients before commercial administrative and criminal courts, as well as in alternative dispute resolution proceedings with respect to various high-profile disputes. Neşe has been described by her clients as ‘hard working, responsive and consumer friendly’.
